Fruits of Uttarakhand

Kafal is very popular mainly in the Himalayan states of India. It is also found in Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya and some places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Kafal (काफल)

Plum is a tomato shaped fruit which is sweet as well as sour in taste, a place called Mukteshwar in Nainital, Uttarakhand is famous for its plum orchards.

Plum (प्लम)

This juicy fruit is widely grown in Uttarakhand. It is rich in beta-carotene, iron, potassium and anti-oxidants. This fleshy and juicy fruit is widely cultivated in Uttarakhand, and is also a popular fruit.

Apricot (खुमानी)

Uttarakhandi Dadim This is the lowest priced fruit of Uttarakhand. Dadim belongs to the family of pomegranates. Dadim tastes sour and sweet alike.

Dadim (दाड़िम)

It is a winter fruit native to Uttarakhand that is used to make squash and other products and the peel is used for facemasks to reduce skin ailments. Fruit is rich in Vitamin C

Malta (माल्टा)

This juicy wild fruit is widely seen in the hills of Uttarakhand. It has great medicinal value and is rich in beta-carotene, iron, potassium and good antioxidants. 

Kilmoda (किल्मोड़ा)

This small, yellow-coloured, nutrient-rich fruit is seen in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand during summer. It can also be referred to as a naturally occurring raw fruit berry and is one of the best sources of multivitamins.
